Pastor Sidney Sims
Pastor Sidney L. Sims was born on Mother’s Day, May 8th, 1969. He is the youngest of three sons born to Arthur L. Sims and Pastor Deborah D. Sims. Sidney attended Wrights Tabernacle of Willow Grove with his family and accepted Christ at a young age.
Sidney attended Abington School District where he received numerous All American Scholar Awards from the United States Achievement Academy. He graduated high school in 1987 and furthered his education by attending Lincoln University of Oxford, PA. During his collegiate studies he continued to attend Sunday morning worship services at the University Chapel. Realizing his education was paramount, Pastor Sid recognized and accepted there was a call on his life. During his senior year he performed an internship at Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. Upon completion of his internship he was hired as a full time Therapist. With a 3.6 grade point average and making the Deans list, Sidney graduated college in 1991. Over the years he grew into serving in management as a department supervisor. CHRH later became Montgomery Rehab Hospital and in 2007 Sidney was afforded an opportunity to assist the hospital to bring in patients in the role of a clinical liaison. As a result of Sidney’s willingness and dedication, within a few months he became the Lead Liaison for the hospital. Continuing to acknowledge the hand of God on his life, in 2009 Sidney was promoted as the Director of Admissions in addition to his role as Lead Liaison.
Sidney is married to Ellen C. Sims. God blessed their union on June 11, 1994. He is a proud Godfather of 11 Godchildren. Together he and his wife served at Faith Fellowship International Center of Willow Grove and were both ordained as Deacon’s on October 1, 1995. Sidney was named the Chairman of the Deacon’s in 1995 and since this time has been used by God in other areas of leadership over ministries such as: Usher’s, Audio/Visual, Men’s Ministry, Finance, Christian Foundation Teacher, Nurses Unit, Superintendent of Sunday Schools, Director of Daycare, Administration, Member of the Board of Directors, and more. In June 2001 Sidney graduated from the Gary Whetstone World Wide Biblical School of Studies with Honors and was Valedictorian of his class with a Grade Point Average of 3.91. Sidney received his license as a Minister of the Gospel on February 17, 2002. In June 2003 Sidney graduated from Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary School with a degree in Religious Education.
He and his wife continue to work diligently for the Lord in a new place with a fresh anointing as founding members of Living Word Family Worship Center (LWFWC) established in 2005. They willingly opened their home for services for the first four months of ministry until the Lord divinely provided another place of worship that would be able to accommodate the growing ministry. On March 25, 2007 Sidney was ordained and installed to the office of Elder by the laying on of hands by the Right Reverend Loretta P. Smith-Koffi and Senior Pastor Deborah D. Sims. Sidney continues to preach God’s word and remains faithful and committed in leadership. He is an anointed workshop and conference speaker and is a respected Executive leader in the church giving his all to assist in putting feet to the vision of the Senior Pastor.
In 2007 Sidney compiled and authored a Deacon’s Manual and immediately began training Deacons and Deacon Candidates for ministry. In 2009 he was an active member for LWFWC’s first Ordination Presbytery Council. On October 11, 2009 Sidney was installed as the Associate Pastor of Living Word Family Worship Center by the laying on of hands once again by the Right Reverend Loretta P. Smith-Koffi and Senior Pastor Deborah D. Sims. During this sacred service he also participated in the ordination of the Deacons he trained. Pastor Sid is presently working diligently on a manual for Elder’s. At the request of Bishop Loretta P. Smith-Koffi, Pastor Sid was humbled to learn both manuals will be used for the purpose of training Deacon and Elder Designates at Living Word Family Worship Center and Shekinah Glory Christian Church. He is excited as purpose is being fulfilled in the Kingdom of God!
