Pastor Deborah D. Sims
Pastor Deborah D. Sims is the Senior Pastor and Founder of Living Word Family Worship Center, Inc. of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Through her life of Christian service, the Lord has proven her to be a person of integrity, character, compassionate and above all else, a woman under total submission and devotion to God. The Lord’s anointing upon her life has positioned her to become committed to every arena of Christian Ministry. Her loving, spirit-filled influence of excellence has left an irrefutable mark in every area, from the Creative Arts Ministry to the pulpit.
Pastor Deborah D. Sims was educated in the Abington Township Public School System and attended the Jameson Bible Institute, majoring in Theology. She furthered her general studies in English at the Montgomery County Community College. She has taken numerous courses of Christian education during her ministerial development. In 2000, she graduated as Valedictorian in the School of Biblical Studies of Gary Whetstone Worldwide Ministries. In 2003, Pastor Sims received her Bachelors degree in Religious Education from Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary.
Early in her Christian journey in 1978, the Lord led Pastor Sims to become a dedicated member of Faith Fellowship International Center, Inc. (F.F.I.C.) of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Dr. Tommie Mareé Lee. During her time of service, she was an active and faithful participant of the Executive Board. In 1980, the Lord’s anointing on her life continued to manifest which resulted in her becoming a licensed Evangelist and then in 1990, she was appointed to Assistant Pastor. In 2005, the Holy Spirit released her from her services at F.F.I.C. to begin a new chapter of service as Senior Pastor and Founder of Living Word Family Worship Center, Inc and on Sunday, March 25, 2007, she was installed as the Senior Pastor of Living Word Family Worship Center by The Right Reverend Loretta P. Smith-Koffi, Senior Pastor of Shekinah Glory Christian Church of Newark, NJ.
God has directed, encouraged and strengthened others through the numerous ministry endeavors He has led her to establish. These endeavors have included: prison, radio broadcast, single, adult, and youth ministries as well as marriage and family counseling. People of all ages and nationalities have been touched in a tremendous way by her love for the Lord and His people. Finally, the drama ministry, to which she poured her heart and soul, has received rave reviews and was above all an effective vehicle that brought souls to Jesus Christ. The dramatic productions of, “Colby” (musical), “And The Truth Shall Make You Free”, “It’s Time To Make A Change” and “Will You Be Ready”, are evidence of the giftings He has placed within this devoted servant of God.
Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Sims has conducted leadership conferences in which she has shared profound insights on perfecting praise and worship of a worthy God. She has been the workshop facilitator for conferences and the keynote speaker for services held across the country in places such as New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida and Louisiana where she received a citation from the Mayor and a “Key to the City”. Pastor Sims has traveled abroad ministering in places such as Nassau, Bahamas, and accompanied Bishop Loretta Koffi to the Dominican Republic in the fall of 2008. Pastor Sims has also been a featured speaker on several college campuses in the Greater Delaware Valley such as Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA and The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. Pastor Sims currently serves as Dean of Spiritual Servitude in the Carmi Ministries’ (a ministry of Bishop Loretta P. Smith-Koffi) Adjutant and Armourbearer Academy, where she provides innovative, foundational training for those who serve the men and women of God. She has received special recognition awards for outstanding community service for youth and was awarded citations from both the House and Senate of Pennsylvania, and the N.A.A.C.P. Woman of the Year award. In June 2007, Pastor Sims received a Citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, House of Representatives, commending her on 29 years of exemplary ministry to the Willow Grove and surrounding communities.
Pastor Sims is the devoted wife of Mr. Arthur L. Sims and the loving mother of three sons: Mark (deceased), Sidney and Steven. She is the proud grandmother of seven: Khristian, Mark, Jr., Steven, Jr., Jaron, Destiny, Diamond and Dominic, as well as a trusted friend and spiritual mother to three precious daughter-in-laws: Keisha, Ellen and Natalie.
